"Facial Analysis: Lost Art in Creating an Impactful Portrait"

Join us for an Impactful Presentation!


Facial Analysis is an essential factor in creating an impactful portrait. Anand will review the concepts of analyzing faces, determining the best camera lens, height, and angle, pose and lighting styles, to create the most flattering portrait for any facial and body type. Anand will walk through a step-by-step process on how to do a facial analysis without making the client feel uncomfortable. Before and after images will be shown to illustrate how to correct facial characteristics.



About Anand "AJ" Jayaraman

Anand was born in Chennai, India, and currently resides in Ashburn, VA. He has been a member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) since 2015. Anand earnedthe prestigious “Certified Professional Photographer” certification in 2016 and the “Photographic Craftsman Degree” in 2019. He is an member of the American Society of Photographers (ASP) and a member of Maryland Professional Photographers Association (MDPPA).

Anand has been photographing since 1986. He started with a 110mm camera borrowed from his uncle. At 16, a competition image that he shot of the mighty river Ganges was selected and displayed at Konica showrooms, India. He moved to using 35mm film and slides in 1995 and started to use digital camera in 2004.

Anand along with his wife started their professional photography business in 2012 to further nourish the passion and take it to the next level.
